You know your rules. You break them anyway.
The second trade costs more than the first
One loss at the open, then a revenge trade to win it back, then another. The damage is rarely the first trade.
Rules in a spreadsheet don't stop anyone
The rules are written down, but nothing puts them in front of you at the moment you're about to click buy.
Logging late means logging wrong
Copying fills from your platform by hand is slow, so you log hours later, from memory, and the numbers drift.
Friction where it matters, speed everywhere else
Set your rules
Start from nine proven day-trading rules and tune each one: max trades per day, max risk, minimum days to expiration, earliest entry time.
Tap "I'm going to trade"
Before you open your platform. If your day is already over, the R1 Alert shows up with a five-minute countdown and a big "Close the day" button.
Log from a screenshot
Upload your Orders tab. TradePause reads the fills, pairs entries with exits, skips duplicates and shows a preview to confirm.
See what really works
Results by signal source, days to expiration, time of entry and setup — and the one chart that matters: trades that broke rules vs. trades that didn't.
A journal that argues back
Automatic rule checks
Every trade you save or import is checked against your rules. Broken rules show as red chips; rules it can't check yet show as gray, never as a false pass.
The R1 Alert
A full red screen when your day is over, a five-minute countdown before you can log anyway, and a one-tap way to close the day instead.
Screenshot import
AI reads your Orders tab, decodes option symbols, uses real fill times and prices, and warns you if it spots a stock sold by mistake.
Statistics that matter
Win rate, profit factor, expectancy and an equity curve, broken down by source, DTE, time of day, ticker and setup.
Practice phase
Set a loss cap and an end date. A progress bar shows the margin left, and a fixed banner tells you to stop when you reach either one.
On your phone, in your language
Install it from the browser in seconds. Light or dark theme, English or Spanish, and times in US Central, the market's clock.
Nine rules, written by a losing streak
TradePause was built after a real journal of fifty trades showed the same pattern: most losses came from 0–1 DTE trades, unplanned, in the first half hour, often right after a first loss.
The default rules target exactly that. Every number is a parameter you can change, and every rule can be turned off.
Default values. You can edit every one.
Before you start
Is it free?
Yes, during the beta. No subscription and no payment method. If paid plans come later, we will tell you in advance and never charge you without your consent.
Does it connect to my brokerage account?
No. TradePause never asks for your broker login and never places trades. You log trades by hand, import a CSV, or upload a screenshot of your Orders tab and confirm what it read.
Is this financial advice?
No. TradePause is a journal and a self-discipline tool. The rules are yours, and every trading decision is yours. Trading options involves substantial risk of loss.
Which platforms does the screenshot import work with?
It is built and tested with the Orders tab of TradeStation. For any other broker you can enter trades by hand or import a CSV.
Who can see my trades?
Only you. Your journal is private, we never sell your data and we never show your results to other users. The details are in the privacy policy.
Do I have to install anything?
Not from an app store. Open TradePause in your phone's browser and add it to your home screen: it gets its own icon and opens full screen. It also works on any computer.
Is it in Spanish?
Yes. The whole app works in English and in Spanish, and each person picks their language.
